Safe Home Visits

Presentation Information

Let me teach you, your employees and/or your colleagues how to avoid becoming a victim of crime without the use of force. It is possible and you can do it!

My lively and up-beat presentations are perfect for anyone that enters the home or small business of a client, patient or customer.

My presentations for people that make home visits are given in a friendly style that promotes learning and audience interaction. Many aspects of personal safety for home visits are covered in the 1 to 2 hour sessions, but the 3 hour session is the most comprehensive. I bring my many years of training and research to you. I combine motivation and a positive style with the many ways to prevent victimization and to diffuse dangerous situations by learning how to remain in thinking mode.

If you or an employee becomes a victim of crime, it can have serious consequences for both the victim and the company or organization. Being a victim of even a minor crime can cause:

  • Physical and emotional issues
  • Time needed away from work
  • Depression and lack of productivity
  • Leaving the job
  • Self destructive or impulsive behaviors
  • Trouble concentrating and making decisions
  • Desire for revenge
  • Counseling by a qualified professional is recommended
  • The incident could cause bad publicity
  • Lawsuits

Let me teach your audience how to stay out of harm's way by developing the mental skills that can easily be developed into good habits.

Taught by a female, former police officer, this motivating and memorable presentation will give you the ability to relax and handle your home visits with confidence.

Session Description (Can be used to promote the presentation)
Mental Skills for Safer Home Visits presented by Chris Puls

Have you thought about how vulnerable you are when you are inside a client’s home?

Were you aware that in just a 10 year period, over 700 people were killed as a result of crime while working in residences? That doesn’t include the thousands that survived their attacks or were victims of non-violent offenses such as theft or stalking.

It’s easy to say “I’m careful” or “I don’t work with that type of client” or “I’ve been safe so far”, but statistics show that crimes of violence happen in all areas, involving people of every demographic. The client may be innocent, but perhaps a family member or visitor is the problem. Then there are the issues of mental imbalances, drug problems and alcohol that affect all demographics.

It IS better to be prepared! Personal Safety is not a subject most people enjoy thinking about because it makes us feel vulnerable. If you only hear or think about the nasty possibilities, it would be very frightening. This presentation doesn’t just touch on the possibilities; it gives you real solutions you can use to get yourself out of dangerous situations so that you can avoid the trauma of being a victim!

Would you be able to recognize the subtle warning signals given by someone who plans to do you harm?
Do you wish you could feel and be much safer just by attending a presentation?
Would you like information you can use today to keep you much safer without having to learn how to physically fight someone?

Mental Skills for Safer Home Visits gives you:

  • Powerful knowledge that can be used immediately
  • Possibilities and why denying them is dangerous
  • Why physical self defense training may not work
  • Mental skills that can protect home visitors
  • Understanding fear so it can be over come
  • How to turn fear into an ally
  • Confident body language and it’s effects on attack prevention
  • Trusting instincts – why/how it can save home visitors from trauma
  • Awareness skills to practice
  • The best crime prevention tools
  • How to get help without adding to the danger
